Thanks to our “It’s a Sealy” campaign, the number one mattress in America has become synonymous with fast, uninterrupted sleep. The retail spot included here features an unflappable salesman who became a serial character. Since the retailers provided most of the media support, it’s no accident that we made the mattress salesman the cool guy. A minor sponsorship of the Summer Olympics turned into a fully integrated campaign, which immediately became so popular among retailers that even Sealy Australia ultimately ran the campaign in support of their team. The TV picked up a Cannes Lion and was featured in all the major award shows.
